The Tampa Bay Lightning barely finished ahead of the Boston Bruins for the top seed in the Eastern Conference, and their prize is a first-round playoff series with the second wild-card team, the New Jersey Devils.
The Devils exceeded expectations this season thanks to many factors, most notably the strong play of the team’s many rookies and the Hart Trophy-caliber campaign of Taylor Hall.
But the Lightning are favored to win the series, and rightly so. They have a ton of offensive firepower and loads of postseason experience.
