Marc Savard Gives Great Update On Health: ‘Best I’ve Ever Been In A Long Time’

Marc Savard’s Boston Bruins/NHL career didn’t end the way it should have, as two heavy hits that resulted in concussions brought his playing days to an abrupt — and dangerous — end.

He has detailed the hell he went through as a result of the concussions he sustained, and kept a low profile for quite some time while he worked to improve his health.

After formally announcing his retirement from the NHL earlier this year, he became a television and radio analyst in Canada. And Thursday, he made an appearance on WEEI’s “Dale and Keefe” and gave an encouraging update on his current health.

“Oh, I’m the best I’ve ever been in a long time,” Savard said to co-host Rich Keefe. “So that’s kind of why you’re seeing me back out and about. Just kind of took some time away from everything and just kind of healed. I’ve got a great family around me, my wife and my kids, my agents and everybody and my buddies. Just kind of really took it day by day and when I felt comfortable again kind of made my way back out into the public eye, so I’m feeling really good right now. The best I’ve been in a long, long time.”

Awesome news.

Savard recently spoke out after a reporter egregiously went after him for “disappearing” when his career in Boston was ending. But all signs currently are pointing toward Savard doing well, which simply is great to hear.
