After losing Kyrie Irving for the remainder of the season, the Boston Celtics reportedly are signing guard Jonathan Gibson, per Yahoo Sports Shams Charania.

During the 2016-17 season, the 33-year-old played in 17 games for the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 6.2 points. After he was placed on waivers by Dallas in December 2016, Gibson became a free agent and signed with the Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles in the Chinese Basketball Association, where he’s been since September.

Per the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach, Gibson will not be eligible for the playoff roster and will replace Xavier Silas, who signed a 10-day contract with the C’s in March.
