NFL Rumors: NFC Team Rejected This Odell Beckham Jr. Trade Offer

It’s anyone’s guess as to what the New York Giants plan to do with Odell Beckham Jr.

The Giants reportedly are not actively shopping the star wide receiver, and a recent report indicated an OBJ trade is “highly unlikely.” But New York reportedly has been “listening” to calls for the 25-year-old, and apparently one inquiry progressed enough for an offer to be extended.

That offer, however, was turned down, per NFL Network’s Michael Silver.

Two NFC teams have been identified as Beckham Jr. pursuers. The Los Angeles Rams reportedly gave the Giants a ring, but the team ended up going in a different direction, acquiring Brandin Cooks in a trade with the New England Patriots. The San Francisco 49ers also have been tied to Beckham Jr., but maybe general manager John Lynch wasn’t willing to pay the high price tag.

Either way, it sounds like the Giants might have a tough time dealing the three-time Pro Bowl selection if they plan to try. Two first-round picks certainly is a big haul for a player on an expiring contract and due for a massive payday.
