It’s an unwritten rule in baseball that you don’t talk about a no-hitter when it’s happening, but the Baltimore Orioles took a chance and it worked in their favor Tuesday night.
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez was no-hitting the O’s entering the eighth inning. Toronto took to Twitter to try and get fans to tune into the game, but being discrete about Sanchez’s no-no.
That’s when Baltimore chimed in.
O’s third baseman Tim Beckham led off the eighth inning with a double that got through third baseman Josh Donaldson’s legs to break up the no-hit bid. Baltimore quickly reacted.
The Blue Jays would go on to win the game, 2-1.
