The New England Patriots finally can reconvene at Gillette Stadium after their Super Bowl LII loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on April 16. That’s when the Patriots’ offseason workout program officially begins, the NFL announced Monday.

The Patriots will begin practicing May 21, when voluntary organized team activities begin. Patriots mandatory minicamp will be held from June 5-7.

The Patriots will have additional OTA sessions May 22, May 24, May 30-31, June 11-12 and June 14-15.

OTAs and minicamp are unpadded practices that mostly focus on the passing game. They are open to the media but not to the public. Attendance to OTAs is voluntary, but almost all Patriots players show up for the sessions. Only defensive tackle Alan Branch, who is no longer with the team, has skipped them in recent years.

The offseason workout program has many phases. It begins with a weightlifting regimen.

Patriots training camp practices, which are open to fans, likely will begin in late July.
