A home run derby broke out during the third inning in Anaheim on Tuesday night.
Mookie Betts got the scoring started for the Boston Red Sox with a huge leadoff home run against Los Angeles Angels starter Shohei Ohtani in the first inning and the long balls kept coming.
Leading 3-0 in the third inning, the Red Sox put on a power display by crushing three home runs off reliever Luke Bard.
First, Jackie Bradley Jr. cranked a two-run home run to deep right field. The round-tripper was Bradley’s first of the season and went 438 feet.
Two batters later, Brock Holt smoked a two-run home run of his own to right field.
Betts finished off the destruction with his second solo home run of the night.
The Red Sox weren’t finished, as Rafael Devers hit a moon shot of his own during the fourth inning.
