Red Sox Vs. Yankees Lineup: Chris Sale Gets Ball In Series Opener

BOSTON — Baseball’s fiercest rivalry will kick off its first act of the 2018 season Tuesday night at Fenway Park.

The Boston Red Sox will host the New York Yankees in the first of a three-game set between the American League East foes. The Red Sox have been on a tear since their Opening Day loss, having won eight straight games. The Yankees, on the other hand, are fresh off a disappointing series against the Baltimore Orioles in which they lost three of four.

Chris Sale takes the mound for Boston in search of his first win of the season. The left-hander only has allowed one run in 11 total innings thus far, but he was tabbed with no-decisions in each of his first two starts. Sale will be opposed by New York ace Luis Severino, who has recorded 14 strikeouts over his first two starts of the season.

The Sox will strut out their usual lineup against the Bronx Bombers, with one exception. Brock Holt gets the nod at shortstop in place of Xander Bogaerts, who was put on the 10-day disabled list Monday.
