‘The Sandlot’ Cast Reunites, Plays Baseball 25 Years After Classic Film’s Release

“The Sandlot” has aged gracefully, even if all the major players haven’t necessarily done the same.

The cast of the classic baseball movie reunited Thursday on NBC’s “TODAY” show in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the film’s release. The actors who played stars such as “Bertram,” “DeNunez,” “Ham,” “Repeat,” “Smalls,” “Squints,” “Timmy” and “Yeah-Yeah” were on hand, but “Benny ‘the Jet’ Rodriguez” was a no-show. Nevertheless, they mused over classic lines while reminiscing over the good times they shared making the movie.

Marty York, the actor who played “Yeah-Yeah,” admitted his role in “The Sandlot” has brought him enduring perks.

“It’s been crazy,” York said. “I mean, it definitely gets you in places for free. I can’t walk through a Las Vegas casino without someone yelling ‘Yeah-Yeah!'”

He and the others deserve nothing less.
