Eric Bledsoe left Terry Rozier a massive piece of bait. But the Boston Celtics guard isn’t biting.
Rozier addressed Bledsoe’s brazen call-out Thursday before the Celtics’ practice and shrugged off the notion the two players have beef.
“I ain’t got no bad blood with nobody,” Rozier told reporters at the team’s facility in Waltham, Mass., via ESPN’s Chris Forsberg. “Everybody out here (to) play basketball, ain’t nobody no boxers or none of that stuff. I’m not really worried about all that. I’m not caught up in that. I’m worried about Celtics and Bucks — how can I help my team get past the first round?”
After Rozier dropped 23 points in Game 2 to help the Celtics take a 2-0 lead in the first-round playoff series, Bledsoe surprisingly responded, “I don’t even know who the f— that is,” when asked about the Boston point guard.
Some thought Bledsoe was irked by Rozier referring to him as Drew Bledsoe, the former New England Patriots quarterback, after Game 1. But Rozier insisted he didn’t mean to.
“I made a huge mistake,” Rozier said. “But it is what it is now. I don’t care.”
Both players have bigger things to worry about, of course. Bledsoe struggled in Games 1 and 2 and must step up his game Friday night in Game 3 if the Bucks want any chance of winning this series. Rozier, meanwhile, is focused on preparing for what could be a hostile environment in Milwaukee.
“I like hostile,” he added. “It’s basketball. It’s nothing to be worried about.”
