Why Dana White Is Confident Floyd Mayweather UFC Fight Will Happen

Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s competitive fire might not burn as strong as it used to, but there’s no doubt the legendary boxer still has a strong desire to rake in the dough.

For this reason alone, it’s becoming more and more difficult to imagine Mayweather not taking his talents to the octagon. This notion evidently is not lost on UFC president Dana White.

“There’s a reason he’s even talking about it: because the money is right,” White told FOX Sports, as transcribed by UPROXX. “It’s going to happen, I’m very confident of that. I heard, I got a curveball a minute ago, they told me the slimy little weasel (Showtime Sports Stephen Espinoza), they want him involved in it. I don’t like that, so that’ll be a huge obstacle.”

This, of course, wouldn’t be the first time Mayweather and the UFC have teamed up for a monster payday. The superfight boxing match between Mayweather and Conor McGregor in late August substantially expanded both men’s bank accounts, so it would make all the sense in the world for the two combat sports stars to do it again, this time in The Notorious’ domain.
