With a week until the 2018 NFL Draft, teams will start trying to orchestrate trades to move up and select one of the top quarterbacks in the draft, whether it be Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield.
And the Denver Broncos are open for business.
Denver owns the No. 5 overall selection in the draft, and while the Broncos certainly are in need of a young quarterback of their own, general manager John Elway told reporters Thursday that he isn’t attached to the pick.
More than a few teams will be looking to move up in the draft, including the Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals, both of whom are in dire need of a fix under center.
The Broncos inked Case Keenum to a two-year deal this offseason, so if they can move down to accumulate more draft picks and restock the roster, then it might be worth it.
On the other hand, Keenum doesn’t have a long track record of NFL success and the Broncos don’t have anyone behind him who inspires confidence.
Maybe they should just keep the pick and draft their signal-caller for the next 10 years.
