49ers Fans Pleading Team To Sign Colin Kaepernick After Jimmy Garoppolo Injury

Late in the 4th quarter of a 38-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, 49ers franchise quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, ending his first full NFL season in San Francisco.

Losing Garoppolo for the season leaves a crater-sized hole on their QB depth chart as they’re now left with just C.J. Beathard and are bringing in a slew of veteran signal-callers for workouts.

However, Garoppolo’s injury has caused 49ers fans to implore the team to bring back an old friend in free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick spent his entire six-year career with the 49ers leading the Red and Gold to the Super Bowl in 2012. Although he hasn’t played professional football since the 2016 season, fans are beginning to wonder if giving Kaepernick a second chance would be the best option for the team.

Kaepernick gained notoriety off the gridiron for silently protesting by kneeling during the national anthem in order to bring attention to social injustice in the United States.

As of right now, there reportedly has not been any discussion in the 49ers’ front office to sign the 30-year-old, but then again the NFL is a crazy place.
