It’s been quite a year for Tiger Woods.

After barely falling short at the PGA Championship in August, the golfer claimed first place in the Tour Championship — his first victory since 2013. By virtue of his stellar 2018 season, Woods earned a spot on the United States team at this year’s Ryder Cup in Paris, his first Ryder Cup nod since 2012.

During Thursday’s opening ceremony, boos could be heard throughout as other American golfers were introduced to those in attendance. But it was a completely different story for the Big Cat, as the 14-time major champion was serenaded with cheers when his name was announced.

Watch the cool moment below:

Woods and his partner, Patrick Reed, will tee off Friday morning against Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari in hopes of bringing Team USA its first Ryder Cup championship on foreign soil since 1993.
