The New England Patriots just won their third Super Bowl in five seasons and their sixth of the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era.

New England will enter the 2019 season with a 42-year-old quarterback and a roster that could be losing some key contributors on both sides of the ball. But if you think the Patriots’ Super Bowl LIII win over the Los Angeles Rams was New England’s last appearance under the bright lights, Julian Edelman has a message for you.

“We still got meat on the bone,” Edelman told NBC Sports’ Peter King. “I’m ready. I wanna get started. I wanna get started!”

Edelman balled out in Atlanta a week ago, tallying 10 catches for 141 yards to earn Super Bowl MVP honors in the Patriots’ 13-3 win. The 32-year-old receiver has spent the last week enjoying the rolling celebration for the Patriots’ latest title, getting his beard shaved on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and presenting an award at the Grammys alongside teammate Devin McCourty.

While the fun is well-deserved, Edelman is ready to get back to work.

“Ultimately,” Edelman said, “I can’t wait to jump back on the horse.”

Edelman, who served a four-game PED suspension to open the season, has had one of the more impressive playoff careers in NFL history. Over the Patriots’ last 12 playoff games that Edelman has played in, the receiver has caught 100 passes for 1,253 yards while helping New England win three Super Bowl titles.

And he’s ready to do it all again.
