Manny Ramirez was supposed to make his Sydney Blue Sox debut Wednesday. But nothing seems to go right in 2020.

Ramirez, 48, signed a one-year deal with the Australian team in August. And even though a man wearing a Red Sox hat didn’t recognize one of the greatest Boston hitters, we thought for sure things only would go up from that moment.

But, that’s not the case.

The Blue Sox released a statement that revealed Ramirez would miss the season opener due to an injury.

Hopefully he’ll be back on the diamond soon enough and the injury isn’t serious.
