Red Sox Vs. Orioles Lineups: Triston Casas Returns To Middle Of Order

Casas is playing in his first game since April

The Boston Red Sox offense has been humming ever since the All-Star break, notching an American League-best 5.96 runs per game.

And now the Red Sox get left-handed slugger Triston Casas back in their lineup for Friday night’s matchup against the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Casas, who has been out since April 20 with torn cartilage in his left rib cage, was activated off the 60-day injured list prior to the contest and will slot into the No. 3 spot in Boston’s order.

Nick Sogard returns to second base after sitting out the opener while Ceddanne Rafaela will man center field and David Hamilton holds down shortstop.

Casas and the Red Sox offense have a tough assignment with AL Cy Young Award candidate Corbin Burnes on the mound for the Orioles. Boston counters with a bullpen game, trotting out Brennan Bernardino to start.

First pitch between the Red Sox and Orioles is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET, and you can watch the game, plus an hour of pregame coverage, on NESN.
