Jacoby Brissett didn't have a horrible game for the Patriots in New England's overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. But the nine-year veteran quarterback didn't necessarily have the greatest game, either.

The signal-caller threw 149 yards on 15 completions with one touchdown pass to rookie wideout Ja'Lynn Polk. Brissett was sacked three times by Seattle's defense, resulting in 24 lost yards for New England. The most significant tackle behind the line of scrimmage was a nine-yard loss coming out of the shotgun with under five minutes to play in regulation.

"It was just a bad play by me," Brissett told reporters, per team-provided transcript. "I was trying to get the ball out, and I just didn't want to be careless with the ball and somebody strip me from behind. I felt somebody coming from behind. So was trying to get the ball out. It was just a bad play by me."

With the Patriots up by three, Brissett was taken down by Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy II on Seattle's 21-yard line. The sack led to a 48-yard field goal attempt for Joey Slye. Unfortunately for New England, Julian Love blocked the field goal, stopping the Patriots from extending their lead to six.

"That's the field goal rush at that time without getting into the strategy involved, but he made a heck of a play," Seahawks coach Mike MacDonald told reporters, per a Patriots-provided transcript. "Just a heck of a play, but it's something you practice all the time, and finally, when you have the opportunity, he goes and executes it. That was big-time."

After the Seahawks took over on downs, Geno Smith led Seattle into New England territory, and Jason Myers tied the game at 20. The Patriots went three and out during their opening drive of overtime. Seattle capped off the comeback on its first drive of the extra frame, handing New England its first loss of the season.
