NFL fans from all across the country could hear it. It was the Green Bay Packers breathing a sigh of relief.
The Packers were faced with a nightmare scenario Friday night when franchise quarterback Jordan Love looked like he sustained a serious, and potentially season-ending, leg injury on the second-to-last play in Green Bay's 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil. Love walked off the field, but with assistance from Green Bay's medical staff.
After further testing on Love on Saturday, it seems like the Packers avoided the worst possible injury outcome.
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapaport, Love suffered an MCL sprain and is expected to "miss a few weeks but not extended time." Rapaport noted that Love has between a Grade 1 and Grade 2 MCL sprain.

The Packers will now look to stay above water without Love, who completed 17-of-34 passes for 260 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in his first game since signing a massive four-year, $220 million contract extension in the offseason.
Green Bay will now be forced to rely on Malik Willis, who the Packers received from the Tennessee Titans in a trade last week, or Sean Clifford at the quarterback spot. The team could also pick up an additional signal-caller in free agency.
There's no clear timeline yet for Love's return, but it's good news for the Packers that he is expected to come back at some point this season.
