Brady is fired up for the World Series
Tom Brady pretty much can do no wrong among Boston fans. That comes with the territory of leading the Patriots to six Super Bowl wins and producing two decades’ worth of great memories in New England.
One of Brady’s latest soundbites probably won’t sit very well with folks in his old stomping grounds, though.
On the latest episode of his “Let’s Go!” podcast, Brady was asked about his rooting interest in the 2024 World Series. While the legendary quarterback didn’t totally side with either the New York Yankees or the Los Angeles Dodgers, he did hint at his preference.
“I’m rooting for a seven-game series,” Brady said. “I don’t know if I’m rooting for anyone, but it’s pretty great when the Yankees win it. But what a great series. Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge — you got all the stars. This is one I think a lot of people are going to be watching. I can’t wait to watch.”
If it makes Red Sox fans feel any better, that might have been Brady’s Bay Area roots speaking. The future Pro Football Hall of Famer grew up a Giants fan, and San Francisco supporters obviously can’t stand the National League West rival Dodgers.
The Fall Classic will kick off Friday night when the pair of powerhouses meet for the series opener in Chavez Ravine.
