Former Celtic Makes Request After Championship Ring Ceremony

Svi Mykhailiuk really, really wants his ring

Not every member of the 2024 NBA champion Celtics received their championship ring Tuesday night at TD Garden.

While Boston returned the majority of its roster and coaching staff from a season ago, a few folks who rode on duck boats back in June took their talents elsewhere this past offseason. Included was Svi Mykhailiuk, who signed a four-year deal with Utah in early August.

Mykhailiuk probably will have to wait until the Jazz’s March 10 matchup with the Celtics to receive his ring. That is, unless, someone helps the guard with the inquiry he floated on social media after Boston shared details of the commemorative bands.

“Does anyone have a connection at FedEx or UPS?” Mykhailiuk posted to X shortly after the Celtics tipped off their season-opening win over the New York Knicks.

Hornets head coach Charles Lee joined Mykhailiuk on the short list of 2024 champs who weren’t on hand for the festivities at TD Garden. But Lee won’t have to wait nearly as long to receive his ring, as Boston will be in Charlotte for back-to-back games Friday and Saturday.
