New England Patriots fans were in a frenzy over Mac Jones' Week 3 cameo, and they might have gotten a view of what Bill Belichick would have told his former quarterback.
Jones appeared in the fourth quarter of the Jacksonville Jaguars' blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills. The 26-year-old didn't flash what he showed in the preseason. Instead, the fourth-year quarterback's lone notable play was when he got strip-sacked.
Belichick broke down the Bills defense on "Inside the NFL" this week and called the unit a "spin-the-wheel" defense. The show used a prop for Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson to spin to prompt a film review from the former Patriots head coach. One of the plays they broke down was Jones' Week 3 fumble.
"Look at the linebackers here. The quarterback looks right at the receiver, and the linebacker jumps him," Belichick said on "Inside the NFL." "When the quarterback's staring down these guys or turn right to who they're throwing to and don't look the defense off, these zone players all over them. And so if he throws it, it's an interception. Mac pulls it down, but he doesn't throw it away, get stripped sack and we have a big turnover for Buffalo."

It's hard not to think that fans got a PG version of what Belichick would be telling Jones in the film room. The future Hall of Fame head coach's film reviews always are entertaining TV, but there's always added intrigue when he's breaking down his former players. The "Inside the NFL" clip also would make things even more interesting if Belichick succeeds Doug Pederson in Jacksonville and reunites with Jones.
Jones probably won't make another appearance again, unless Trevor Lawrence gets hurt or if the Jaguars continue to spiral. But Belichick's brief comments about his former QB did make his possible future film review of Drake Maye's first start highly-anticipated TV.
