Jabrill Peppers’ Attorney Makes Claim About Patriots Captain’s Arrest

Jabrill Peppers maintained his innocence after he was arrested over the weekend.

Peppers appeared in Quincy District Court on Monday after he was arrested early Saturday morning on several charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of cocaine. The New England Patriots safety pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned and declined to provide comment when he left the courthouse.

Peppers’ attorney, Mark Brofsky, did provide a statement, however.

“What I said in the courtroom, I’ll repeat: We have evidence that completely contradicts the alleged victim’s story. I expect my client to be fully exonerated,” Brofsky told reporters, per a video captured by Boston25’s Ryan Breslin.

Brofsky claimed Peppers’ defense team had video evidence “and other evidence as well.”

A Braintree, Mass. police report alleged Peppers girlfriend called law enforcement early Saturday morning after the Patriots team captain was physically abusive, per Breslin. In the report, Peppers is accused of choking the alleged victim, as well as smashing her head against the wall and pushing her down the stairs.

Peppers’ next hearing is scheduled for Nov. 22. The Patriots released a statement following the 29-year-old’s arrest indicating they were aware of the issue.
