Get the wallet out
The Boston Red Sox should have an aggressive approach this offseason with multiple needs to improve the team.
Their direction or player targets will likely be clearer once superstar Juan Soto makes his free agent decision that will energize one franchise this winter. The Red Sox are right in the mix and should be getting ready for their next move in the process.
ESPN’s Buster Olney reported Sunday that offers should begin to roll in for Soto this week with the previously reported league expectation the superstar will sign around the Winter Meetings in December.
“Sources involved in the Juan Soto talks expect the teams will begin forwarding offers this week,” Olney posted to X. “To date, the process has been about Soto meeting with team/club officials, and about those officials getting to know Soto.”
Soto could easily get somewhere in the range of $500 million and $600 million. The Red Sox seem poised to make a substantial offer in the context of the franchise history. What that offer is will be reflected in decision-making in the coming weeks.”
