The Bruins might not be without Jeremy Swayman for too long.
Swayman missed Thursday’s win over the Ottawa Senators due to an upper-body injury. Interim head coach Joe Sacco told reporters at TD Garden that the team would monitor Swayman’s status but the injury was not considered serious.
The star netminder was at Warrior Ice Arena on Friday and participated in morning skate. Sacco told reporters the 26-year-old “should be an option” for the Black and Gold’s Saturday matinee matchup against the Colorado Avalanche at TD Garden.
A sign that Swayman could be active is that the Bruins assigned forward Patrick Brown and goaltender Michael DiPietro to Providence. Joonas Korpisalo would earn a second consecutive start if Swayman is unable to play.
Puck drop for Bruins-Avalanche is scheduled at 1 p.m. ET, and you can catch full coverage on NESN after an hour of pregame.
