MLB Inflicts More Punishment, Karma For Yankee Fans In Mookie Betts Play

Neither fan will be returning to an MLB ballpark

The New York Yankees had multiple losing performances during the 2024 World Series when the Los Angeles Dodgers won it all in five games.

That included two fans who made inexcusable efforts to interfere on a fly ball with Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts that sparked major controversy prior to the conclusion of the series. Months after the end of the Fall Classic, those Yankees fans who watched their team lose have some extra salt in the wound.

Both fans have now been banned from all MLB stadiums, The New York Post’s Dan Martin reported Friday. Austin Capobianco and John P. Hansen paid the ultimate price for a ridiculous decision that now leaves them removed from in-person baseball experiences for the long haul.

Betts got the last laugh from the incident and won the third World Series championship of his career after one with the Boston Red Sox and two with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
