Northeastern University’s women’s hockey team has done it again. For the third straight year, the Huskies raised a banner to the rafters as the winners of the Dunkin’ Women’s Beanpot.
Northeastern opened up the scoring in the first period off the stick of Lily Yovetich, and blanked Boston University, 4-0, on the back of freshman goaltender Lisa Jönsson, who made 30 saves and was awarded best tournament goaltender and tournament MVP.
The ceremonial puck drop was done by members of the PWHL’s Boston Fleet who are alumni of Beanpot schools: Alina Müller, Megan Keller, Jillian Dempsey, Hannah Bilka, and Aerin Frankel, who won the Bertagna Award for best goaltender during the 2020 Beanpot.
