The Patriots have handed the keys over to Mike Vrabel.

New England landed one of the most coveted options on the market in Vrabel, but in doing so had to shuffle up the power dynamic down at One Patriot Place. It’s fairly clear who has the final say, but in giving it to the new guy, others had to give up some previously held power.

Eliot Wolf, for instance, is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

NESN’s George Balekji welcomed everybody’s favorite content producer Keagan Stiefel (fact, not opinion) onto Friday’s episode of “Foxboro Rush.” Balekji and Stiefel discussed the power dynamic, with the latter taking a positive approach.

“It’s all about how they go into this,” Stiefel said. “Eliot Wolf — it’s an ego thing for him… I think final say now goes through Mike Vrabel, and I don’t think you can really argue that at this point. (The Patriots) essentially brought in a guy that bumped Wolf down on the totem pole, and then you’re bringing in a guy who is right below him (in Ryan Cowden). (Wolf) is stuck between two people who have a relationship together, who very clearly see things in a similar way in terms of roster construction, so that’s an ego hit and an uncomfortable spot for Eliot Wolf to be in.

“If he can just accept that, and look at it as, ‘I need to be a little bit more malleable in terms of the way I look at things. I need to listen to the opinions of others. I need to understand that I don’t have the final say.’ If he can do that, I think this is great.”
