Brady has too many commitments
Tom Brady’s post-playing football live still has him in the public eye with significant decisions regarding his future.
Brady signed onto an extensive (and expensive) long-term deal with FOX Sports as the network’s lead analyst for the next 10 years for $375 million. His results are subjective throughout his “rookie” season since his debut. He called his first playoff game during the wild-card round when the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers.
Brady’s timing for starting the contract also keeps him in the spotlight as the former quarterback will broadcast Super Bowl LIX for FOX in New Orleans alongside lead play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt.
Football will always vacuum in Brady’s attention, time and energy. That may take a hard transition next year as his latest commitment could attract and demand more of his football interests.
Brady officially signed on with the ownership group with the Las Vegas Raiders. Recent weeks produced several reports that the seven-time Super Bowl champion that his influence on football decisions is on the rise from the team’s head coaching to search to targeting its next franchise quarterback.
It’s hard to imagine Brady being able to put the necessary energy into both of those commitments. If it comes down to it, criticism from his broadcast performances tied with the chance to influence on-field wins and losses will likely rip Brady out of the broadcast booth and fully into the building in Las Vegas.
Brady has an enormous game to prepare for with his Super Bowl broadcast. The days following could fuel further one-and-done rumors for his broadcast career.
