The Red Sox reportedly beat four teams in the Alex Bregman sweepstakes, leaving them figuring out their next moves.

Boston and Bregman reportedly agreed to a three-year, $120 million contract. The Detroit Tigers reportedly also were in the running for the 30-year-old and offered him his desired six-year contract. However, the two-time World Series champion decided to sign with the Red Sox, but the American League Central club isn’t taking the decision personally.

“We’re good. I’ve been in this game for a long time,” Hinch told reporters, per Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press. “I value all these relationships, both that I have currently and the ones that I have from the past. It’s competitive, and it’s a sport that is ever-changing when you see a lot of different people moving teams and things like that. I think you gotta take it for what it is and move into the next phase. We haven’t even gotten to full squad yet. It’s moving forward as we should.”

Detroit likely will need to rely on its young up-and-coming players to fill its hole at third base. For the Red Sox, they can move ahead and focus on their goal of making the postseason and winning the AL East.
