Since the turn of the calendar year, the Red Sox heard one thing from fans: “Sign Alex Bregman.”

Boston officially did that Saturday after agreeing to a three-year, $120 million deal with the 30-year-old Wednesday. The two-time World Series champion will wear the No. 2 jersey, and there will be a news conference about the signing held Sunday at 8:30 a.m. ET.

The Red Sox released a Bregman highlight video to commemorate the signing. The video was captioned, “Signed Bregman,” and the beginning hilariously included social media posts from fans begging the team to sign the All-Star infielder.

Fans were heard loud and clear, and the Red Sox signed a player who boosts their ceiling and can help them achieve their goals. It was a highlight week for Boston that included John Henry seemingly reacting to the marquee signing as well as fans taking in any moment between the Red Sox and Bregman at Fort Myers, Fla.
