Bruins’ Jeremy Swayman unveiled his new goalie mask for Team USA’s 4 Nations Face-Off on Friday.
Check it out:
The red, white, and blue mask features six fighter jets on the top of the mask, inspired by Swayman’s Bruins teammate Trent Frederic, USA in bold letters on both sides and the Alaskan native’s No. 1 on the chin. The back plate also features tributes to the 4 Nations’ host cities, Boston and Montreal.
The right side of the mask features the pinnacle image of six United States Marines raising the U.S. flag atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima, along with a range of mountains that Swayman noted “mean a lot to me.” The left side features Ricky Bobby from the movie “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.”
The mask was painted by Dave Art, who also did the artwork on Swayman’s centennial mask for the Bruins’ historic 100th season in the NHL.
