With the new season right around the corner, MLB Network began ranking the top players in the league with their “Top 100 Right Now” list, and four Boston Red Sox players earned a spot.
Three-time All-Star Rafael Devers (21), reigning All-Star MVP Jarren Duran (27), newly acquired infielder Alex Bregman (37) and ace Garrett Crochet (56) all made the cut and look to elevate the Red Sox to their first postseason appearance since losing the American League pennant in 2021.
Devers batted .272 with 28 home runs and 83 RBI in 138 games for the Red Sox last year. He finished with an .871 OPS in 525 at-bats.
Duran turned into one of the best players of the 2024 season, slashing .285/.342/.492 with 21 home runs. He led the majors in doubles (48) and triples (14) across 160 games with Boston. Duran also sparked defensively, finishing second among outfielders with 23 defensive runs saved.
Two-time World Series champion Bregman, who signed a three-year, $120 million deal with the Red Sox on Wednesday, slashed .260/.315/.453, with 26 homers and 75 RBIs across 145 games in his final season with the Houston Astros, earning his first career Gold Glove.

Crochet was one of the most dominant pitchers in his first season as a full-time starter with the White Sox in 2024. The 25-year-old lefty struck out 35 % of the opposing batters he faced and finished with a 3.58 ERA in 32 starts. Crochet surrendered just 18 home runs in 146 innings while striking out 209 batters and walking 33 in an All-Star campaign.
Did the MLB Network get it right? Was there any Red Sox player overlooked?
