On the eve of the second Spring Breakout game, Marcelo Mayer gave the Boston Red Sox a spring training boost.
Mayer stepped to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday and tied the game against the Minnesota Twins with an RBI single. He then scored the winning run in walk-off fashion for the Red Sox

Mayer reached Triple-A Worcester last season but never played for the WooSox when injuries ended his season. He needs a few months at that level to start 2025, but he should be ready for his MLB debut with the Red Sox sometime later this summer.
