The Boston Red Sox will be great again when they start playing great baseball at Fenway Park.
Boston hasn’t had a winning record at Fenway Park since 2022, and it’s certainly part of the reason the team hasn’t made the postseason since 2021. The Red Sox did a great job exploding at home to start the year with 36 runs in their three-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals. That was followed by three losses to the Toronto Blue Jays before a salvaging win to end the homestand at 4-3 at Fenway.
Boston starts another seven-game homestand Friday on Patriots’ Day weekend in Boston, with the Boston Marathon capping off the weekend on Monday, along with the Red Sox and Chicago White Sox playing morning baseball.
Alex Cora hopes the weekend reinforces the necessity to win more at home and embrace the atmosphere that can challenge visiting ballclubs, which obviously hasn’t been the case in recent years for the Red Sox.
“We enjoy this weekend,” Cora told Tom Caron on NESN’s “Friday Night Fenway” show. “Playing seven here at home, hopefully we get going and have a great weekend at home.”

“Being around the city the last few days, man, there’s a buzz in town for obvious reasons,” Cora added. “Hopefully, we can get going at home. That’s the most important thing and make this place very uncomfortable for the opposition.”
