Shedeur Sanders finally heard his name called in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Browns drafted the Colorado product with the No. 144 pick in the fifth round Saturday. The Sanders selection came a day after Cleveland drafted Dillon Gabriel in the third round. Sanders will join Deshaun Watson — who likely will miss the 2025 season — Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett in the quarterback room, along with Gabriel.

Cleveland traded up to the No. 144 pick to draft Sanders. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Philadelphia Eagles considered drafting the 23-year-old to compete for the backup job behind Jalen Hurts. However, the Browns jumped them to add to their QB room.

Sanders was projected to be drafted as high as No. 2 in the draft. Cleveland traded back to No. 5, and that’s when the quarterback’s draft fall began. The New York Giants traded back into the first round to select Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart. Tyler Shough and Jalen Milroe were other signal-callers who were drafted ahead of Sanders in the first three rounds of the NFL draft.

After hearing his name called Saturday, Sanders posted a video of himself jumping into his pool and went on Instagram Live.
