Boston Bruins CEO Charlie Jacobs, team president Cam Neely and general manager Don Sweeney held the franchise’s end-of-season press conference Wednesday at TD Garden.
After discussing the disappointing 2024-25 campaign and touching on several topics, including the search for the Bruins’ next head coach, Jacobs spoke with NESN’s Adam Pellerin for “The Hockey Hub” podcast about the reasons the front office, particularly Neely and Sweeney, remain in their roles.
“We’ve been in this boat before, that is, having a team that’s missed the playoffs, and frankly, building it back,” Jacobs said. “We’ve done this, Cam and Don successfully have done this.
“While we did not win the Stanley Cup, we came pretty darn close. We’ve also set the record for the most wins in a regular season in the history of the National Hockey League. All a team that’s constructed by Cam and Don.”
