Mike Vrabel, Eliot Wolf and company didn’t rest once the New England Patriots made the very last pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Patriots attacked the undrafted free agent market and added 19 players to compete for a roster spot alongside their 11-player draft class.
Undrafted free agents have been a staple on New England’s roster for two decades now. David Andrews, Brandon Bolden, Jonathan Jones, Malcolm Butler and J.C. Jackson all found success with the Patriots going that route. Safety Dell Pettus made the squad last season as an undrafted free agent, carrying on a tradition in which the Patriots have had an undrafted free agent make the 53-man roster out of training camp in 20 out of the last 21 years.
Here are the players who reportedly will join the Patriots after going undrafted:
Ben Wooldridge, QB (Louisiana)
Cam Riley, LB (Florida State)
Jack Conley, OL (Boston College)
Brandon Crossley, CB (SMU)
Lan Larison, RB (UC Davis)
DeMeer Blankumsee, WR (Memphis)
Josh Minkins, S (Cincinnati)
Brock Lampe, FB (Northern Illinois)
Cole Birdow, G (Merrimack)
Efton Chism III, WR (Eastern Washington)

Ponder highlights the group as he was viewed by NFL analyst Chad Reuter as the fourth-best edge rusher available following the draft. Ponder plays at a position of need for the Patriots and the 6-foot-2, 257-pounder had 26 sacks in his college career, with 17 of those coming in the last two seasons.
Wooldridge gives the Patriots a third quarterback on the roster behind Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs. He completed 66% of his passes for 2,453 yards with 17 touchdowns and six interceptions last season with the Ragin’ Cajuns.
The Patriots also invested in a couple of tight ends — something they didn’t do during the draft — in Dippre and Scott, who was teammates with New England’s second-round pick TreVeyon Henderson. Both hail from prestigious college programs and will provide depth behind Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper.
