The Boston Red Sox already called upon Kristian Campbell with Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer likely to join him sooner rather than later in 2025.

Boston had the game’s lowest-ranked farm system after the 2019 season. The playoff absence sparked the firing of Dave Dombrowski. The offseason also saw the seismic trade of Mookie Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers. From there, the Red Sox went to work on a major reset in the minor leagues.

Mayer became the first blue-chip prospect of Chaim Bloom’s regime. In the following years, the free-agent departures of Eduardo Rodriguez and Xander Bogaerts gifted Boston compensatory draft picks. Those picks turned into Roman Anthony and Kristian Campbell, who each had three-level rises in a calendar year through the farm system.

Campbell is already making an impact at the MLB level. Anthony and Mayer continue to smash Triple-A pitching and will be in the fold for the Red Sox soon. This year should mark the start of a new competitive window with the youth movement leading the way.
