Will Campbell and Kelvin Banks Jr. were supposed to be the top tackles selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Armand Membou had something to say about that, though, and very well could jump both of them and be first off the board when we finally reach draft night.
How did we get here?
Membou’s raw talent is tantalizing, and in a class where there doesn’t appear to be an obvious choice, many point to that talent as something that could catapult him in front of some safer options. The New England Patriots ultimately are positioned to decide who has the best prospects, so as we wait on their decision, let’s discuss the man who has so many people salivating over his potential.

OVERVIEW
Membou will have the word “raw” attached to him for a long time, and for good reason, because he didn’t start playing football until the middle of high school.

Missouri didn’t know what it had other than a tremendous athlete, waiting to unleash him until halfway through his freshman season. The Tigers were forced to let him play after injuries, and after seeing what he was capable of, never looked back.
Membou was a star, and after proving himself as the best right tackle in the SEC, he finally started getting some buzz from the NFL.
NFL SCOUTING COMBINE
Membou had an interesting combine, as he tested out as a superior athlete but measured shorter and heavier than both Campbell and Banks.

40-Yard Dash: 4.91 seconds
Vertical Jump: 34″
Broad Jump: 9’7″
STRENGTHS
Membou’s value is carried by his athleticism, but he also has great building blocks that stem from that, like great balance and awareness.
Missouri head coach Eliah Drinkwitz helped paint the picture in an interview with NESN’s Sean McGuire, so check that out for more.
WEAKNESSES
Membou is built like a guard, not a tackle.

It’s honestly hard seeing him as anything other than an interior player at the next level, as late hands and poorly timed leans are as big a part of his game as anything. Do you want an undersized dude who still needs to learn fundamentals at left tackle?
No, we don’t either.
HOW DID MEMBOU AND CAMPBELL END UP IN THE SAME CONVERSATION?
Do we lose credibility by saying we have absolutely no idea?
Campbell’s primary knocks are tied to his arm length, but everything else about the guy seems like the real deal. Membou, on the other hand, is completely undersized to be playing the same position and would need to be a total outlier in order to find success at the next level.

Campbell and Banks are viewed as guards to some, and it makes zero sense why they would be and Membou wouldn’t.
The Patriots need someone on the outside to protect Drake Maye, and this isn’t the guy.
