The Boston Red Sox will soon see the debut of Liam Hendriks.

Hendriks was reinstated from the injured list on Saturday, with his spot on the roster opening up after right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins was optioned to Triple-A Worcester following his superb start against the Chicago White Sox.

It’s been a long road to get to this point for Hendriks.

Boston signed him before the start of last season, though he never appeared in a game as a result of his rehab from having Tommy John surgery on Aug. 2, 2023. The Red Sox hoped he would be ready by the beginning of the regular season, though that was delayed due to right elbow inflammation.

Hendriks’ debut should come against the White Sox, his former team.
