The Boston Red Sox should be thrilled with the way their top prospects continue to swing the bat at the Triple-A level.

Roman Anthony continues his tear this week after a grand slam earlier in the week while the WooSox tossed a combined, seven-inning no-hitter against the Rochester Red Wings. Friday brought even more fun to another historic level for the WooSox lineup.

The WooSox earned a 20-7 victory Friday afternoon, which set a record for both runs and hits (26) in the contest. The Red Sox prospects lashed the ball around the ballpark with two more hits for Anthony, plus a grand slam and seven RBIs for Marcelo Mayer. Vaughn Grissom owned the day with a five-hit performance, including a home run, to push his season batting average over .350.

The WooSox slugged six home runs in the record-setting win for the franchise. Anthony continues to pound on the door for the big leagues with the Red Sox. Boston should also be pleased with the progress from Mayer and Grissom to be able to fill infield depth with some level of impact during the 2025 season.

Anthony is due for a call-up soon, and Mayer should do the same later this summer. Those are expected for the Red Sox, and Grissom’s renewed offensive production could earn him another crack at the big leagues in a fill-in role around the infield.
