Jeremy Swayman’s stellar 2025 IIHF World Championship run continued Saturday, and Team USA is one win away from winning a gold medal.

Team USA beat Sweden 6-2 at Avicii Arena thanks to a three-point performance from Shane Pinto. Swayman remained undefeated at the world championships, and Andrew Peeke was a plus-1. They faced off against Boston Bruins teammate Elias Lindholm, who scored in the third period to cut Sweden’s deficit to two, but Team USA closed out the semifinal matchup.

The Americans will play the winner of Sweden-Denmark, and they have a chance to win their first IIHF World Championship gold medal since 1933. This is also the first time the U.S. will play in a senior men’s IIHF final since its overtime loss to Canada in the 2010 Olympic gold medal game in Vancouver.

Swayman stopped 27 of 29 shots Saturday and is fifth in the tournament with a 1.98 goals against average.

The IIHF World Championship final will be played Sunday at Avicii Arena on Sunday at 2:20 ET.
