Marcelo Mayer will make his Red Sox debut in Game 2 of Saturday’s day-night doubleheader at Fenway Park against the Baltimore Orioles.
After Boston walked off with an extra-innings win in Game 1, Alex Cora made several changes to the lineup for the second game.
Mayer will start at third base and bat sixth in the order behind Trevor Story. Rob Refsnyder will slot back into the lineup in right for Wilyer Abreu and bat third.
Kristian Campbell also returns after having Game 1 off, and Connor Wong will take over behind the plate for Carlos Narváez and bat eighth.
Lucas Giolito will toe the rubber for Boston and face Orioles lefty Trevor Rogers.
