The Boston Red Sox were shut out 5-0 by the Atlanta Braves in the second game of a three-game series on Saturday night after winning 5-1 the day prior. It was the seventeenth loss of May for the Red Sox, who have struggled to go beyond .500 this season and recently, to stay at .500.
The Sox were 16-11 in April, flipping things on their head for a dismal 11-17 in May. June offers the opportunity to start fresh, but only if the Red Sox can stop striking out. The Sox have a staggering thirty games this season with ten or more strikeouts, and are 8-22 in those games.
