New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is one of the best hitters in baseball, especially against the Boston Red Sox.
The Red Sox have seen a lot of Judge since he debuted in 2016, including this past weekend at Yankee Stadium. The two-time American League MVP has now played 107 regular-season games against Boston in his MLB career.
During that time, he’s inflicted some serious damage on the Red Sox. He just notched a pair of three-hit games against them over the weekend, including a two-homer performance during Boston’s 11-7 victory on Sunday Night Baseball.
With the two long balls, Judge now has 31 career regular-season homers against the Red Sox. That makes him the second-fastest player in Yankees history to reach 30 big flies against Boston, behind only Babe Ruth (95 games).
Ruth, of course, started his career with the Red Sox before they sold him to New York, where he became arguably the greatest slugger in MLB history.

The Yankees have had a lot of great players since then, but Judge is essentially a modern-day Ruth. His 62 homers in 2022 are an American League single-season record — two more than Ruth clubbed in 1927.
With 338 career homers, however, Judge is still well short of Ruth’s career total of 714.
Last weekend’s three-game set was only the first series between the two AL East rivals this year, so Judge still has 10 more games to add to his home run tally against Boston before the season is through. The two teams will meet again this weekend at Fenway Park, where Judge has 12 career dingers.

Red Sox pitchers will need to try to keep him in the yard if they want to win that series as well, but that’s easier said than done when it comes to one of the best home run hitters in baseball history.
