After being traded away at the trade deadline during the 2024-25 season, Trent Frederic is reportedly signing an eight-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers, according to Daily Faceoffs’s Frank Seravalli.
The deal will be valued between $3.5 million and $4 million per year.
Frederic and Max Jones were dealt to the Oilers as part of a three-team deal that involved the New Jersey Devils in March. In the trade, the Bruins got a 2025 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick from Edmonton and defenseman Max Wanner.
The forward was drafted by the Bruins in the first round during the 2016 NHL Draft. He spent seven seasons in Boston, scoring 55 goals and 54 assists in 337 games.
With Edmonton, Frederic played just one regular-season game due to dealing with an ankle injury when he was traded. He did appear in all 22 of the Oilers’ playoff games, totaling four points on a goal and three assists.
