The Red Sox on Monday reinstated Romy González from the 10-day injured list ahead of their series against the Los Angeles Angels at Fenway Park.

Boston optioned fellow utility man Nate Eaton to Triple-A Worcester in order to make room for González, who suffered a left quad injury and landed on the injured list May 10.

The 28-year-old González played two rehab games with Triple-A Worcester before being reinstated. Eaton, who was called up Sunday, did not appear in a game.

González batted .308 (16-for-52) with six doubles in 17 games for the Red Sox this season. He made 10 starts at first base and one each at second and third base.

First pitch between the Red Sox and Angels is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET, and you can watch it live on NESN after an hour of pregame coverage.
