Marcelo Mayer and Roman Anthony are set to reunite on the Boston Red Sox.

Weeks after promoting Mayer, the Red Sox will welcome another top prospect to the majors. According to multiple reports, Boston is calling up Anthony on Monday. Katie Morrison-O’Day, who covers Triple-A Worcester for MassLive, shared a video of Anthony confirming that he’s on his way to The Show.

Fresh off his debut, Mayer now gets to experience the moment through his teammate’s eyes. The Boston Globe’s Alex Speier shared Mayer’s reaction to the news.

“I’m super excited for him,” Mayer said.

Red Sox fans are likely just as excited to witness Anthony’s arrival. MLB.com’s top-ranked prospect batted .288/.423/.491 with 10 home runs in 58 games with the WooSox.

On Friday night, Anthony giddily watched Mayer hit his first career big league home run. The next day, the 21-year-old outfielder belted a 497-foot grand slam at an exit velocity of 115.6 mph.

Anthony, Mayer, and Kristian Campbell form the “Big Three” of Red Sox prospects poised to anchor their lineup for many years. Campbell continued a memorable weekend for the young trio when he hit his first home run since May 13 on Sunday night.

Although Anthony is not in Monday’s lineup, neither is Wilyer Abreu. According to Speier, the right fielder is likely going on the injured list, clearing a spot for Anthony in Boston’s outfield alongside Jarren Duran and Ceddanne Rafaela.

Red Sox fans could witness Anthony, Mayer, and Campbell in action together for Tuesday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
