NESN, New England’s premier sports network, announced Tuesday that its direct-to-consumer streaming platform, NESN 360, established a new record for highest unique audience for any live event during Roman Anthony’s highly anticipated debut for the Boston Red Sox on Monday night.
The total audience was 18% higher than the previous record for NESN 360, set on Red Sox Opening Day this season — which had eclipsed a Bruins playoff game in spring 2024. Additionally, more than 80% of all NESN 360 subscribers tuned in at some point to see the first game for MLB’s top prospect.
The record extends the early-season interest in the Red Sox on NESN 360, which has had an average, per-game streaming audience increase of nearly 150% from 2024 and a 68% increase in subscribers YOY. All of the marks arrive on the heels of awards NESN has received in June, including being named Regional Sports Network of the Year by Cynopsis and winning four regional Emmy Awards.
“What an exciting night for the Red Sox and Red Sox fans,” said David Wisnia, NESN CEO. “We’re thrilled with the strong start to the season on streaming and even more excited about what’s ahead, especially with the energy and excitement the team’s young players are bringing to the game.”
In addition to the above, Anthony’s MLB debut included:
